Opportunity Details

Marriage Mentor

Having a marriage that glorifies God while growing together is hard work and requires the help of other believers. If you have a heart for marriage and have been married for at least ten years, we invite you and your spouse to become marriage mentors.

Each spouse must be a member and complete their own interest form. Once submitted, you will be contacted by the lay leaders over the marriage mentors to set up a time to meet and talk about what was shared on the application.

After you are approved as marriage mentors, there are three ways to serve in this capacity.

1. The most common way to serve as a marriage mentor is being matched with a couple after they've completed premarital counseling with a pastor to provide support and encouragement their first year of marriage. Mentors work through an approved book with the assigned couple and meet monthly for one year.

2. Another path to marriage mentoring is being matched with a couple after they’ve completed marriage counseling with a pastor or lay counselor for ongoing accountability and discipleship.

3. There is also the option for marriage mentors to be matched with an engaged couple for 4-6 sessions of premarital counseling using SYMBIS (Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts). We will give you access to become SYMBIS certified and provide resources when doing premarital counseling.
